Lock screens let you protect individual links on your page with a password or confirmation screen. When a visitor clicks a protected link, they'll see a prompt before being able to access the content.
How to add a lock screen
- Create or edit a Link block on your profile.
- Look for the Protect option in the link settings.
- Choose a preset template or create a custom configuration:
- Sensitive Content — Displays an age or content warning before the visitor can proceed.
- Code — Requires the visitor to enter a password/code to access the link.
Configuring your lock screen
You can customize the following fields:
- Title — The heading visitors see (e.g., "Enter Code" or "Age Verification").
- Description — Optional text with additional context or instructions.
- Password/Code — The code visitors need to enter to unlock the content (optional — if left blank, visitors just need to click the button).
- Button Text — The call-to-action text (e.g., "Submit", "I'm 18+", "Enter").
How it works for visitors
When a visitor clicks a protected link:
- A modal overlay appears with your title, description, and input field (if password-protected).
- The visitor enters the code (if required) and clicks the button.
- If the code is correct (or no code is required), the link opens normally.
- If the code is incorrect, an error message prompts them to try again.
Once unlocked, the visitor can access the link for the remainder of their session without re-entering the code.
Use cases
- Age-restricted content — Add a simple confirmation screen before sensitive material.
- Exclusive content — Share a code with specific audiences (e.g., email subscribers, event attendees) to access premium links.
- Private resources — Protect files, documents, or pages meant only for authorized viewers.
Reusing lock screens
Lock screen configurations can be reused across multiple links. When you create a lock screen, it's saved to your account and can be applied to other links without reconfiguring it each time.
