Connecting a New Domain

Last updated: February 8, 2026

Note: Connecting Custom Domains requires a Pro plan

If you don't already own a domain, you can purchase one from any domain registrar and connect it to your Liinks profile. Here's how to get started.

Step 1: Purchase a domain

Buy a domain from any domain registrar. Popular options include:

Choose a domain that represents your brand — this will be the URL visitors use to access your Liinks page.

Step 2: Connect it to Liinks

Once you've purchased your domain, follow the instructions in Connecting an Existing Domain to configure your DNS records and link the domain to your Liinks profile.

The process involves:

  1. Adding the domain in your Liinks Settings tab under Custom Domains.
  2. Updating your DNS records (A record and TXT record) at your domain registrar.
  3. Verifying the connection in Liinks.

Tips

  • Root vs. subdomain — You can connect a root domain (e.g., example.com) or a subdomain (e.g., links.example.com). Root domains require two entries (root + www), while subdomains only need one.
  • DNS propagation — After updating your DNS records, it may take up to 24-48 hours for changes to propagate, though it's usually much faster.
  • SSL certificates — Liinks automatically provisions SSL certificates for your custom domain, so your page will be served over HTTPS.
