Connecting a Mailing List block to Mailchimp

Once you've added a Mailing List block to your page, you can connect it to Mailchimp:

• Sign in to your Mailchimp account and navigate to the Api Keys page under Account > Extras > API Keys (or just click here).
• Create a new API key by clicking the "Create A Key" button.
• Copy the newly created API key
• Back on Liinks, paste the API key in the "Mailing List Settings" section on your settings page.
• (Optional) if you have multiple Mailchimp contact lists, you can select the list you want contacts to be added to. By default, we'll add to your global contact list.
• Test adding a contact by navigating to your Liinks page and entering an email
• If you see the 🚫 icon, something went wrong. Please check the common issues section below, or contact us for assistance.
• If you see the ✅ icon, you're all set! When a user enters their email in your Mailing List block and submits, they will be added to your Mailchimp contacts. Contacts added this way will receive a Liinks  tag in Mailchimp, so you can easily filter and segment them.

Common Issues

Error message: Your merge fields were invalid.

This error message shows up if you have connected your Mailing List block to a mailchimp audience that has required merge fields. In order to resolve this you must mark the fields as not required:

• Sign in to your Mailchimp account and head to Audience > Settings > Audience fields and |MERGE| tags
• Uncheck any required fields (other than Email Address)
• Save changes

You should no longer see the error when adding contacts.
