Instagram Sync
By connecting your Liinks account to Instagram, you can automatically sync new posts from your Instagram account to your Liinks profile.
Instagram Sync now requires a professional Instagram account. If you do not have a professional account, you will be prompted to switch your personal account to a professional account when you connect Instagram to Liinks. You can also follow the guide on switching to a professional Instagram account here. Switching to a professional account is free and only takes a few minutes.
How does it work?
Whenever you create a new post on Instagram, we’ll automatically check the caption for a link. If we find one, we will add this link to your page. You can also choose to sync posts without links in the caption! This option can be toggled directly in the Instagram Sync block settings.
Here’s how link detection works:
- We look for any URL that starts with http://, https://, or www.
- We use the first URL we find in the caption.
If you enable syncing for posts without links, we will still add the post’s image and caption to your profile as a clickable item that links back to the instagram post.
How do I enable this feature?
- Add an Instagram Sync block to your Liinks profile.
- Connect your Liinks account to Instagram by clicking the “Connect Instagram” button on your settings page.
- Enter the credentials for the Instagram account you want to connect
- Authorize the requested permissions.
- Create a new Instagram post.
- Within 1-3 minutes, the post will automatically sync to your Liinks profile as a button block.
What will my auto-published button look like on my profile?
- We’ll use the image from your Instagram post as the thumbnail and the caption as the text.
- If a link is found in the caption of your post, the button block will take users to that link
- If no link is detected and syncing without links is enabled, the button block will take users to the Instagram post
- You can customize the layout of auto-published links by editing the Instagram Sync block.
Where will the links or posts be added?
Extracted links and synced posts will appear directly beneath your Instagram Sync block on your profile.
After my post is auto-published, can I update or delete the Instagram post?
Yes! Once the link or post has been synced to your Liinks profile, any changes or deletions made to the original Instagram post (including removing the URL) will not affect the auto-published content on your Liinks profile.
